In this case, the CRD says it has 331,937 eligible electors, meaning at least 33,194 would have to submit opposition forms, or else the bylaws will be adopted.The goal of this bylaw is to preserve agricultural land and promote local food security by buying or leasing land for farming and agricultural-related activities, according to the regional district.The CRD estimates that the new “Foodlands Access Service” would have an initial budget of $320,000, which includes start-up costs.
