CRA to Offer Digital Tax Filing to Lower-Income Canadians

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is launching a new digital tax filing service for eligible lower-income Canadians. The service, called SimpleFile, will be offered to individuals with simple tax situations that remain unchanged from year to year. The CRA will send out invitation letters to eligible Canadians via mail or their CRA account over the next few months. Canadians will be able to file their taxes within five to 10 minutes with the phone option and in 20 minutes or less using a computer or mobile device.
