Evans, the Titans’ former 2018 first-round pick, was on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad last month. He has appeared in 76 games during his time with the Titans and Falcons and started 67 of those. Jones said injuries on the defense don’t change the team’s ceiling as the season progresses. Vander Esch and Trevon Diggs are among some of the defensive starters to be sidelined due to injury.
“I think we will continue to play well. We saw, as I said, a lot of good things on tape. We held McCaffrey to 20 carries for less than 60 yards. If you told me that before the game, I’d say, ‘Well, that’s a great start to us winning the football game,’” Jones said. “There’s some other things we have to do, whether it’s cleaning up the penalties or making some big plays.
