COVID-19: Vaccine, mask, testing requirements expected to remain at care homes for some time

Those measures require visitors to be vaccinated, wear a mask and take a COVID-19 rapid test.

“But we all need to be prepared to go back to some of in the fall when the respiratory viruses are more frequent,” said Lake.Article content B.C. health officials and care home providers are asking for patience as they say it may take a little time for care homes to gear up for increased visitors, particularly those that are short-staffed.

“We’re asking people to be really conscious of that and to phone the home before they show up, to find out what their capacity is. Maybe they have to schedule their visit, maybe there’s a limit to the number of visits per day, until they get the staffing shortages under control,” said Lake.Article content
