At the same time, provincial and Ottawa Public Health officials now “strongly recommend” people put masks back on to help blunt the spread of respiratory viruses among children. A “triple threat” of RSV , influenza and COVID-19 is sending record numbers of children to CHEO and other children’s hospitals.

In its most recent COVID-19 “snapshot” last Thursday, Ottawa Public Health said COVID-19 continues to circulate in Ottawa while levels of other respiratory viruses, such as the flu and RSV, are high.
