A B.C. man has been ordered to quarantine for two weeks after a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officer refused to accept the digital version of his B.C. Vaccine Card

New Westminister-resident Charles Wangersky recently returned to YVR with his wife and son after a trip to Florida for a family funeral.

However, Wangersky said the officer gave his adult son an order to self-quarantine for two weeks as he didn’t have a scanner to read the QR code.Article content It might be a stretch, he said, for federal officers at airports in other provinces to be able to scan the QR code to access B.C.’s digital proof-of-vaccination, but that shouldn’t be the case at YVR.Nick Wangersky didn’t keep track of the little paper card he received after he got his shots once he started using the QR code to go to restaurants. Later, however, Vancouver Coastal Health helped him download a hard copy record of his vaccinations in May and June.
