The petition points out Marino and his wife Edie last September bought a condominium in Vero Beach, Florida, and in November registered to vote and applied for a driver’s license in that state.Marino, 70, has maintained based on opinions he has received he meets the residency requirement to run for district attorney.
He and his wife bought the condominium as a place to vacation, he said. To drive in Florida after a 30-day period one needs a driver’s license from that state, Marino explained. After selling their home in Cogan Station, they rented a house in Loyalsock Twp. and then began staying with their adopted son when in the Williamsport area, he said.
Bartley’s first complaint was forwarded by county elections director Forrest K. Lehman to current District Attorney Ryan C. Gardner.Lehman has refused to make public Bartley’s complaint because he said he considers it an investigative issue since he forwarded to Gardner.Bartley on his blog has detailed findings on why he claims Marino is ineligible to run for DA.
