Several Ontario universities say they’re removing course locations from public websites in light of a violent attack at the University of Waterloo, but local university and colleges say this measure was already in place

Greater Sudbury post-secondary institutions say they were already omitting course locations on public websites as several Ontario universities have removed such information in the wake of a violent attack.

While course details are not publicly provided, information about faculty, including office numbers, are available on Laurentian’s public website. “I would add, also, that it’s an attack on academic freedom, given the fact that it took place during a lecture,” he said. That being said, over the years the college has “put in place a number of measures to make our campus as safe as possible.”
