Now they are safe together in Cornwallis Park, have jobs and are enjoying the community that has welcomed them with open arms and opportunity. They were the first people to escape Ukraine and arrive at the“We learned a lot about Nova Scotia and decided to come here,” Vasileuska said. “We found people who were eager to help us with housing, so we ended up here.
“We came here to have a stable situation to be able to support them,” she said. “Our aim is to have jobs and we already and do our best to be useful for the community and to support our relatives.”
