Two decades later, a series of sexual assault allegations began to surface against Choudhury in 2013 from former students. The controversy surrounding Choudhury was the subject of a 2019 Netflix documentary titled Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator. The film alleged that during Choudhury’s teacher-training sessions, he would invite his favourite pupils to his room and ask them to massage him.
The suit alleges she attended a “gruelling” weeklong training in Las Vegas when she was 18: “Jill was required to massage Choudhury’s feet, night after night, for three hours at a stretch until her hands cramped and her fingers blistered.”Article content The L.A. County District Attorney’s Office says a criminal case was brought against Choudhury in 2013, involving four alleged victims, but didn’t proceed due to insufficient evidence.
Choudhury will instruct seven yoga classes and lectures for the Canada Yoga Sports Federation during his visit to Vancouver.
