The first read on the August University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index is 67.8 which is better than the expected 66.9 and a bit of a jump from the July read of 66.4.
And I'm also seeing that it's still the lowest one year in expectations that we've gotten since December of 2020.Being in line with the expectation though, you're seeing still some pressure across the screen. So we'll see if the sentiment data is enough for stocks to continue to kind of wipe out those losses from earlier today.
