Conservative Party mulling over a third official debate in August via nationalpost

A party official, speaking on background, said that the debate could take place early August but could not specify if it would be in English, French or both languages.

The voting process, meanwhile, is already underway. Roughly 280,000 voting ballots have already been sent by mail to members who were with the party when the race began, with 380,000 more ballots supposed to be sent by mail Friday or Monday to newer members.Most leadership teams have been asking for a third official debate for months to discuss policy ideas, especially after the English debate in May was heavily criticized for its rigid rules and lack of content.

Participation in official party debates is mandatory and could result in an automatic $50,000 penalty which would be applied to the compliance deposit of the candidate who chooses not to attend, according to the party’s rules and procedures related to debates.hosted by the Canada Strong and Free Conference in Ottawa which resulted in sparks between Poilievre and Charest.
