When Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre held a press appearance on Feb. 12 in the West Block foyer outside of Question Period, he got into a testy exchange with Canadian Press reporter Mickey Djuric . It's something which veteran freelance journalist Glen McGregor says is part of the Conservative leader's approach in 'kind of trying to vilify' the media.

Following his remarks in both French and English about Auditor General Karen Hogan's scathing report on the ArriveCan app during the press conferencde, Poilievre (Carleton, Ont.) began taking questions from assembled reporters, beginning with Djuric. Djuric asked Poilievre if he “regretted his party’s decision to grant regulatory relief to Bell Media.” Bell recently said it was cutting 4,800 jobs across Canada, the largest round of layoffs in nearly three decades.
