Hannah Casperson, 25, is accused of injuring several Connecticut police officers during a chase Sunday. WOLCOTT, Connecticut — Seven police officers were injured when a woman trying to escape from police crashed into several patrol cars in a chase that covered more than 20 miles and didn’t end until she slammed into a pole, police say.
At about 8:43 a.m. Sunday, officers in Waterbury, Conn., spotted a white Hummer driven by Casperson, according to a news release. Officers tried to stop the vehicle but it sped off, hitting a patrol car. Moments later it struck another patrol car as the Hummer headed onto Interstate 84 west, police say.that seven patrol cars were hit overall, sending seven officers to the hospital. All of the officers were listed in stable condition.
Police say Casperson has multiple outstanding warrants. She will face additional charges in connection with the thefts and chase.
