Veteran British rockers Queen have found success again with powerhouse singer Adam Lambert lending his massive pipes to the group.
And so it has for Queen, who lost their exceptional lead singer Freddie Mercury back in 1991 after forming in 1970.
Most recently, the veteran British rockers — still going strong with founding guitarist Brian May, 76, and drummer Roger Taylor, 74, in the lineup — have found success again with powerhouse singer Adam Lambert lending his massive pipes to the group. In fact, Lambert, 41, reminded the Toronto crowd at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday night that he’d been with the group for 10 years now and thanked them and the audience for giving him “a shot.”The two-hour-and-15-minute concert, which came to glorious life courtesy of a large, multi-screen stage with two opera boxes filled with lucky fans on either side, opened with Radio Ga Ga — which would be revived again during the encore — and Lambert was in exceptional voice from the get-go.
But it really was the group dynamic that was the main enticement hereas Queen, rounded out by three touring musicians on keys, percussion and bass, hit their stride with hit after hit.Standouts included Another One Bites The Dust, Fat Bottomed Girls, I Want It All, Don’t Stop Me Now, Somebody To Love, Tie Your Mother Down, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Who Wants To Live Forever, The Show Must Go On, and Bohemian Rhapsody .
