SDSS J1531 is composed of 19 massive star clusters that resemble beads on a thread.
This black hole resides in the colossal galaxy cluster SDSS J1531+3414 . This cluster harbors hundreds of galaxies and massive reserves of hot gas and dark matter. At its heart, two of the largest galaxies in the cluster are colliding with each other.
“We are already looking at this system as it existed four billion years ago, not long after the Earth formed,” said Osase Omoruyi, who led the study at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian . The resulting composite image, which combines Chandra's X-ray data , LOFAR's radio data , and an optical image from the Hubble Space Telescope , depicts a fascinating cosmic panorama.
