Norway native helped organize three Olympics and several world championships
Next winter, from March 3-17, Prince George will host the Para Biathlon World Championships and the Para Nordic World Cup finals at Otway Nordic Centre.
“John is one of the best in the world for organizing and officiating top level Nordic events and it's an honour to welcome him to our team in Prince George to work alongside and inspire our local officials and next generation,” said Kevin Pettersen, chair of the local organizing committee. He was in charge of venue design and operations at the 2011 Nordic World Championships in Oslo and at the 2023 Junior World Championships at Whistler and headed several World Cup race committees in Canada, United States and Norway.
