He was also an integral figure in Fraser becoming a standout in basketball. As a youth player, Fraser would have her grandfather drop her off at the Pictou County Wellness Centre for pre-dawn workouts prior to going to school. Fraser graduated from X with a Health Science degree last spring. But with two years of eligibility remaining, she decided to join forces with the defending Atlantic conference champion Saint Mary’s Huskies and enrolled in the two-year Master of Applied Health Services Research program at SMU. Instead of lining up against the likes of Alaina McMillan and Clara Gascoigne, she will be sharing the court with them.
Aside from graduated all-star Sophia Widmeyer, the Huskies return much of the same lineup from last season’s championship-winning club, which finished fourth at nationals.
