It’s time for Texas to join the nationwide movement for statute of limitations reform for sex-abuse survivors.
Child sex-abuse survivors recently rallied at the Texas State Capitol to oppose HB 4601, which would reduce the statute of limitations in child sex-abuse cases in Texas from 30 years to 15 years for institutional defendants. Much better is HB 206, which would allow a person who was sexually abused as a child to bring a civil lawsuit “at any time” to recover for injuries arising out of the abuse.
