Homicide suspect, husband of victim, arrested after fleeing to South Carolina
Columbus police arrested a man who they say fled to South Carolina after fatally stabbing his wife in their Southeast Side home.a fatal assault on Lisa Rocker, 58,Around 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 4800 block of Carbondale Dr. after a call from a woman who said her mother, Lisa Rocker, was dead in the garage and that her stepfather, Charles Rocker, had killed her, court records show.
Medics arrived on scene and pronounced Mrs. Rocker dead at 6:45 p.m. A preliminary investigation shows that she had been stabbed several times.Charles Rocker’s Mazda was missing from the scene and police suspected that he had fled in the vehicle, according to court records.Rocker then allegedly stole a vehicle in Charleston, South Carolina, and was chased by local police when he intentionally swerved off the road and crashed the vehicle.
Columbus homicide detectives traveled to South Carolina, where they arrested and charged him with murder. Police said Rocker admitted to being involved in the homicide and fleeing to Charleston.
