INDIANAPOLIS — New Colts head coach Shane Steichen has found his right-hand man on the offensive side of the ball.

"Yeah, I will call the plays here," Steichen said at his introductory press conference this week."The offense is going to be dictated on who's playing quarterback. That's how you build the system.

Under Cooter's leadership, the Lions built an effective passing game, and former Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford publicly lobbied for Cooter to stay on staff after Caldwell was fired following the 2017, although new head coach Matt Patricia's decision to keep Cooter lasted only one season.
