Lloyd Chavez was shot dead outside his house in Centennial, Colorado.

A cheerleader and three teenagers are suspected of killing a high school student over $25 worth of vaping products. Lloyd Chavez was shot dead outside his home in Centennial, a city 16 miles south-east of Denver, Colorado, at 9:30 p.m. local time on May 8.

CBS Denver reported that Chavez was shot in the chest and managed to identify his shooter as “Kenny,” a junior at Cherokee Trail High School, before being rushed into surgery. Chavez, a high school rugby player, did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Colorado laws state people must be at least 18 years of age to purchase vaping supplies and investigators believe the illegal vape sale was coordinated via Snapchat.

Once they reached Chavez’s residence, money was exchanged. Investigators later confirmed the sum was approximately $25. Two days after the incident, Gallegos told investigators she handed over the money to Chavez, before taking it back shortly afterward.
