THUNDER BAY — A 32-year-old woman faces impaired driving charges for the second time in just over a year after a two-vehicle crash on Friday night.

In a Monday morning news release, the Thunder Bay Police Service said the incident happened at the corner of James and Mary streets just after 9:30 p.m. and involved a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle. Police said officers became aware the driver of the truck remained in the vehicle and was possibly impaired. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle to receive medical attention from firefighters on the scene, and showed multiple signs of impairment during their interactions with first responders.Police said the driver's breath showed a blood alcohol concentration nearly three times above the legal limit.
