Three others were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, authorities said.
OAKLEY — Two people were injured Sunday in what authorities are calling a hit-and-run, and a third person was arrested for leaving the scene of the crash, police said.
Police arrested the 55-year-old man on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, Oakley Police Chief Paul Beard said in a statement. It all happened Sunday morning about 12:10 a.m., after police received a report of a crash at the intersection of Main Street and Charles Way that left a pickup truck completely rolled over, Beard said. The two people in that car suffered minor injuries, he said.
Officers at the scene determined that a black sedan hit that the truck and fled the crash scene. Officers later found the suspected driver walking on Main Street and arrested him there, Beard said. Officers found the black sedan on Babbe Street at the intersection of Martin Street, and the driver was gone. Beard said three other men who were intoxicated and refused to cooperate with officers were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.
