"But for the fall, we're looking at a hybrid approach," Serrata said, outlining plans to stagger students' classroom schedules to minimize crowds while practicing physical distancing and supplementing additional instruction with online learning.At California State University Channel Islands'program, students getting degrees in communications, early childhood studies and other disciplines don't have to spend money on textbooks.
"And in this scenario of moving so quickly into a wholly virtual environment, it's likely we're going to accelerate that," she said.
