A storm is hitting San Diego County with rain and cold temperatures, as well as snow on the region's mountain areas.
SAN DIEGO - Four school districts in San Diego County will be closed Monday because of icy conditions and snow in mountain areas, according to the San Diego County Office of Education.
County beachgoers were advised to stay out of all coastal beaches and bays because of the danger of rain bringing water runoff, which can cause bacteria levels to rise significantly, officials said Sunday.Rainwater coming from storm drains, creeks, rivers and lagoon outlets may cause illness, according to the Department of Environmental Health and Quality.
Two county roads were closed because of flooding, according to the San Diego County Department of Public Works. Country Club Drive, just south of Harmony Grove Road in Escondido, was barricaded and closed at 1:04 p.m. Sunday due to flooding and will remain closed until the rainstorm is over, the DPW said.
A small craft advisory was issued until 4 p.m. Monday for coastal waters from San Mateo Point to the Mexican Border and out to 30 nautical miles of waters from San Mateo Point to the Mexican border extending 30 to 60 nautical miles out including San Clemente Island.
