Dennis Johnson was hired at CNC on Oct. 1, 2019 to replace Henry Ryser as president.
Dr. Dennis Johnson is stepping down after three years as president and CEO of the College of New Caledonia.
“My experience as the president of CNC has been the fulfillment of a career in post-secondary education that started as a one- term faculty contract 33 years ago. It has been my honour to lead CNC since 2019. I will leave at the end of this year knowing that the work we have done together has helped CNC to better meet students’ needs now and into the future.”
He also saw the college through the pandemic, which disrupted classes starting in March 2020, forcing college educators and students to adapt to online distance learning to cover course material for the next two years. “I’m grateful for their efforts, which all contribute to CNC’s vision of learning together, changing lives, and creating futures. I expect that 2023 will be a successful year that includes significant progress towards our goals.”
