The Clippers have missed Leonard all season after he tore his ACL in last year’s playoffs and got just three games from Powell, who injured his foot

PLAYA VISTA – When is Kawhi Leonard returning? There’s no word on when or whether Leonard, the 30-year-old, two-time NBA Finals MVP, will return to action. But the Clippers’ star wing made an appearance before practice Tuesday at Honey Training Center, where his teammates would prepare to face Phoenix on Wednesday in the first of their three final regular-season games – a homestretch that might reintroduce Norman Powell to the lineup.

Before Powell and the Clippers started practicing, Leonard strolled onto the court and grabbed a ball and his pal Jeremy Castleberry – the Clippers assistant with whom he’d played at Riverside King High School and San Diego State – and began shooting. “I didn’t see him,” said Clippers coach Tyronn Lue, ever coy about injured players and their rehabilitation, when asked about Leonard’s presence on the practice court in the northwest corner of the gym.

They haven’t had Leonard at all this season as he’s been recovering from July 13 surgery to repair a torn right anterior cruciate ligament. But they also haven’t ruled him out.
