CLEVELAND, Ohio - The second disbursement of Cleveland’s $512 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan Act is expected to arrive in mid-2022. When complete, ClevelandThe only cities with more ARPA funding are New York , Chicago , Los Angeles , Philadelphia , Detroit , Houston , and Baltimore .
To qualify for funding, cities must have a population of at least 50,000 or be the central city for a metro area, as defined by the Office of Management and Budget. The total grant size for cities with a population of less than 50,000 was capped at 75% of the locality’s most recent budget.from ARPA, passed in 2021, under the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program. This is the seventh highest allotted to any state or territory.in Ohio, at nearly $240 million, just behind Franklin County at nearly $256 million. Cuyahoga CountyWhile Cleveland is in Cuyahoga County, the city’s funding is double what the county received.
Additionally, businesses and industries can also apply for assistance. A new round of ARPA funding was announced in February for the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund to assist higher education institutions in serving students and continuing their education during the pandemic.
