Dodgers candidate to replace Terry Francona is a former Cleveland draft pick.
Cleveland drafted McCullough, 43, with the 22nd pick in 2002 out of Eastern Carolina. He caught in their minor league system from 2002-05, reaching Triple-Buffalo for one game in 2005.
Two names that have reportedly drawn interest from the Guardians are White Sox bench coach Charlie Montoya and Texas hitting coach Donnie Ecker. Montoya was the Blue Jays manager from 2019 until he was fired in July of 2022 despite his team having a 46-42 record.It’s known that external candidates McCullough, Carlos Mendoza and Craig Albernaz have interviewed with the Guardians. Mendoza has been Aaron Boone’s bench coach with the Yankees for the last three year.
Mansolino, 41, was a longtime minor league manager and field coordinator for the Guardians. He just finished his third season with the Orioles. Budzinski, 50, played seven years in Cleveland’s minor league system after it drafted him in the 21st round in 1995. He managed four years in Cleveland’s minor league system and was a member of Francona’s big-league coaching staff in 2018 before joining Toronto as its first base coach in 2019.
