The Atlantic University Sport Men’s Hockey Conference game attracted 787 fans to MacLauchlan Arena on the UPEI campus in Charlottetown. The X-Men scored three goals before the eight-minute mark of the first period to take a 3-1 lead into the first intermission, and then outscored the Panthers 3-1 in the middle frame for a 6-2 cushion after 40 minutes.
Winning goaltender Joseph Raaymakers finished with 25 saves. Jonah Capriotti gave up six goals on 23 shots for the Panthers in 40 minutes of action. Joe Ranger played the other 20 minutes and stopped all 12 shots directed at the UPEI goal.
