Clarington councillors and Mayor Adrian Foster will be reading to the public at Clarington public libraries this summer.
“We are thrilled to have our Mayor and Councillors participate in our storytimes this summer,” said Monika Machacek, Chief Executive Officer of Clarington Library, Museums & Archives . “Storytimes will be offered across Clarington, at our Bowmanville, Courtice, Newcastle, and Orono Libraries. Early literacy is a vital part of our mandate and our growing community, and it will be wonderful for the children to be able to meet and speak with members of our local council.
Each storytime will feature a municipal councillor or the mayor as a special guest as they read a story and answer questions from the young participants.“Stories inspire us, change us, connect us and delight us,” Rang said. “That’s one of the things that makes libraries so valuable to our community — they are places where our kids can experience the life-changing power of a great story, and as council we are thrilled to support that.
