Ryan has hinted a female presenter will replace him
Claire Byrne has overtaken Miriam O'Callaghan as the favourite to replace Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show.
Bookies immediately installed Prime Time's Miriam as the early favourite, but over the past few days it has emerged that Claire Byrne is now top of the pecking order according to Ladbrokes, after her odds tumbled to 6/4 to 3/1.Miriam is still in the mix however, with odds of 3/1, followed by RTE presenter Ray D'Arcy, who completes the top three at 8/1.
Tommy Tiernan, whose Saturday night chat show is ratings winner for RTE, is another popular choice can be backed at 16/1. The Six O'Clock Show's Greg O'Shea has made no secret that one day he wants to get the gig and can be backed at 18/1.
