The city’s expression of interest deadline to sponsor several municipal playgrounds was extended to June 1

The City of Greater Sudbury is seeking sponsors to help pay for its ongoing playground revitalization project.

An expression of interest for playground revitalization sponsorship opportunities opened on Sept. 28, 2022, and will close on June 1 after its original December close date was extended. So far, Montgomery Partners Professional Corporation, a business development advisory and representative agency, has been the lone plan taker.

In exchange for sponsorships, the city offers “recognition, acknowledgement or other promotional consideration for a specified period of time.” This can include brand recognition on signage, influence of colour and esthetic look/feel to align with a corporate brand, and other promotional opportunities, such as involvement in the playground’s opening day.Ground broke late last year for an accessible playground on Moonlight Beach, which United Way Centraide North East Ontario pledged $150,000 toward. The city’s goal is to attract sponsors to cover between $25,000 and $250,000 in costs depending on the location.
