An income tax increase to 2.2% could appear on the March, 2024, ballot for those who live in the city of Delaware.
Council will hold public hearings on the measures at it’s next meeting on October 23, but won’t vote on whether to put them on the ballot until November 13. City officials said that’s the latest council could act and still get the measures on the spring 2024 ballot.One of the measures would renew the 0.
15% income tax for parks and recreation. The second would add 0.35% for municipal services and infrastructure projects. That additional tax would be temporary, lasting five years. If both measures pass, the city income tax would jump from 1.85% to 2.2%.the city faces. Many street resurfacing projects have been deferred, some for nearly two decades.
