In response to serious allegations against Mayor Dave Bronson's administration made by Anchorage's fired city manager, Assembly members say they are coordinating with legal counsel about options for curbing liability and unlawful conduct.

“I am shocked and not surprised,” Assembly Vice Chair Christopher Constant said during a previously scheduled rules committee meetingOn Wednesday, a lawyer representing Demboski released theto elected officials and news media.

By Thursday afternoon during their committee meeting, members were already thinking about what will come next.“The Assembly, as you all know, is very limited in the actions it can take in regards to personnel issues,” LaFrance said. “We have legislative powers, but what does that mean exactly for investigations?” asked Assembly Counsel Dean Gates. “We have subpoena power, we haven’t exercised that.”
