Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber Just Joined Vogue’s Forces of Fashion

“Richard Avedon taught me that being a model is about more than being a pretty face,” she told an audience at Build Studios while promoting her career retrospective book,. “You have to look at the clothes, understand what kind of picture the team is trying to do, and bring something to the table. You’re not just a clothes hanger.” That mindset made Crawford a favorite of Avedon, Herb Ritts, and a slew of other photographers while allowing her to carve out an exciting career beyond the studio.
