Audiences are assured a fun, holiday spectacle with the triumphant return of Cinderella to the Neptune stage from Nov. 21 to Jan. 7.
As part of the original production team, she knows how busy the next few weeks will be with rehearsals, opening night, and the jam-packed schedule that has the team working through the holidays together doing eight shows a week. As the new Cinderella character, Ontario-based Michelle Yu is returning to Halifax as an avid fan of Neptune and the East Coast. The 24-year-old Toronto native is excited to be a BIPOC Princess, something she didn’t see much growing up. Her childhood princess memories spring from ice shows she attended with her parents and always enjoyed.
“Cinderella is funny! It has jokes for the adults and great music everyone will recognize,” says Brown. “I feel this is a show for anyone who wants a digestible experience of live theatre and isn’t sure what to expect.”
