OTTAWA — The lawyer for accused wife-beater Joshua Boyle is suggesting that the volatile relationship he had with his estranged wife Caitlan Coleman was more consensual and more of a shared dysfunction than it was one of alleged abuser and victim.
The question brought prosecutor Meaghan Cunningham to her feet to object, and in legal arguments shortly afterwards before Ontario Court Judge Peter Doody, the judge said Greenspon was “edging up to one of the myths” and told him if he wanted to continue this line of questioning he would have to bring a special application before him.
