Strauss leaves his job with the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit on pretty much the same page policy-wise as every other public health unit, in other words. His crimes are those of communication. And communication is massively important in public health, as so many of Strauss’s colleagues seemed to forget every time they stood before a microphone.
Rhetorical excesses and legitimate debates aside, what came out of Strauss’s mouth made sense given his stated beliefs. Few of his colleagues can claim that today — ironic, considering they didn’t do much differently on the job than Strauss.
