Quebecers are different than other Canadians in many ways, but going out of their way for cheap flights is demonstrably not one of them. In pre-pandemic times, Montrealers became famous for driving to nearby Plattsburgh, N.Y. or Burlington, Vermont in search of cheaper fares. Nevada-based ultra low-cost carrier Allegiant Air’s website actually lists Plattsburgh as a Montreal airport, and, at time of writing, it wanted the equivalent of $550 Canadian for a weeklong trip to Orlando leaving Nov.
