- China's Ganfeng Lithium, the world's largest lithium metal producer and the largest lithium compounds supplier in mainland China, yesterday announced the first production of lithium carbonate at its Cauchari-Olaroz salt lake project in Argentina.

The project is currently planned to produce 40,000 tons of LCE per annum in phase I and no less than 20,000 tons of LCE in phase II. The first lithium carbonate products are produced by the production capacity of phase I.
