American fast-food chain Chick-fil-A plans to open five to seven new restaurants in British Columbia by 2030, generating hundreds of new jobs. This expansion marks the next phase in the company's Canadian growth strategy.

Chick-fil-A, the American fast food chain known for its chicken sandwiches, is planning to expand its presence in Canada by opening several new restaurants in British Columbia. The company states its goal is to establish five to seven new locations in the province by 2030. Each new restaurant is expected to create 80 to 120 jobs, contributing to the local economy.

Jessica Sisk Roehle, a spokesperson for Chick-fil-A, expressed excitement about bringing the brand's authentic experience to British Columbia, emphasizing the company's commitment to creating new opportunities for employees and investing in local communities. Established in 1967, Chick-fil-A has become a household name in the United States with over 3,000 locations, earning the title of the nation's largest chicken chain. The company's foray into Canada began in 2019 with the opening of its first restaurant in Toronto. Currently, there are 22 Chick-fil-A locations across Canada. In addition to its B.C. expansion plans, Chick-fil-A also announced plans to open a record-breaking eight new restaurants in Ontario and Alberta in 2025. This marks the most significant growth for the chain in Canada since its initial entry in 2019. Notably, Chick-fil-A is committed to social responsibility, donating US$25,000 to Second Harvest, a food rescue organization, for every new restaurant opening. This initiative has resulted in over US$500,000 donated to Canadian organizations in celebration of restaurant openings. Furthermore, all Chick-fil-A restaurants remain closed on Sundays, allowing employees time for rest, family, and worship before starting the week anew
