ChemChina Chairman Ning Gaoning said on July 1 that he is confident in Syngenta and has no plans to sell, Caixin reported.
Ning’s remarks follow comments from Geng Wenbin, China’s ambassador to Switzerland, who said ChemChina’s $43 billion acquisition of the seed and chemicals company in 2017 was a mistake, the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper reported on June 29."If I had been the ambassador a year earlier, the takeover wouldn't have taken place," the newspaper quoted Geng as saying.
