Executive chef at Michelin-starred Northcote scoops top 'hospitality Oscar'
Lisa Goodwin-Allen has been named best chef in Britain at The Cateys. The prestigious awards celebrate the best of the best in the hospitality industry and Lisa, executive chef at Michelin-starred Northcote in the Ribble Valley as won the Chef of the Year Award.
Lancaster-born Lisa arrived back to her restaurant, which also provides luxury rooms, to a huge fanfare, with staff releasing ticker-tape cannons, cheering and clapping. The chef, who started her career at Holbeck Ghyll in the Lake District, is also known for her TV work, appearing in shows including Great British menu and Masterchef: The Professionals.Lisa's menu is centred around Lancastrian ingredients and cuisine.
Editor of The Caterer James Stagg said at the awards ceremony, which was held at London’s Grosvenor House: “It has been striking to witness just how imaginative hospitality businesses have been in delivering exceptional guest experiences over the last 12 months, despite battling incredibly challenging trading conditions and a full-blown staffing crisis.
