For the rest of October, anyone with a purchase receipt from a downtown business may be eligible to have their tickets waived. The goal is to incentivize downtown shopping.
"No one likes to get a ticket. But things happen, time slips away, tickets are issued," said Dawn Alan, executive director of Downtown Charlottetown Inc. “This month, we want to forgive that ticket fee for our customers making a qualifying purchase, who just did not make it back in time."To have a ticket waived, both it and the receipt should be taken to the Charlottetown police station on 10 Kirkwood Dr. within five days.
The value of the receipt must be at least $35 before taxes, made within three hours before the ticket is issued, and be from a business between Prince and Pownal Street, or from Euston to Water Street. People are limited to one ticket forgiveness per week and it only applies to meter violations, so fines from parking garages and lots are not eligible.‘This is the life people live every day’: Viola’s Place hold campout to raise awareness in New Glasgow, NSFinnish icebreaker no stranger to N.L. master mariner: Capt.
