Patrol officers in an unmarked vehicle saw the wanted 41-year-old Charlottetown man drive by, initiated the stop and safely arrested the suspect. A search warrant then led to the seizure of 2.5 ounces of cocaine, brass knuckles, a baton, other drug paraphernalia and $2,000 in cash. The accused has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon and breach of a recognizance order. He’ll remain in custody until a provincial court appearance.

It was the second time this week Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit arrested and filed drug and weapon charges, following a Tuesday bust on University Avenue in which a 52-year-old man was arrested after being caught with fentanyl, a replica firearm, drug paraphernalia and cash.
