and the community harm reduction steering committee are holding a community engagement session to discuss the planned overdose prevention site in Charlottetown. The session will take place on Feb. 8. The event will offer residents in the surrounding area of the planned site on 33 Belmont St. the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.

The group question-and-answer session will be held in two-time slots at either 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Murchison Centre at 17 St Pius X Ave. Participants will be assigned to groups of eight to 12 and will have the chance to talk with provincial government staff and community service providers.

The province noted it plans on announcing an operator for the overdose prevention site in the coming weeks. The Department of Health and Wellness will then work to secure a vendor to complete renovations to the site.
