The Islanders recently honoured Hulton at Eastlink Centre for reaching the 1,000-game milestone as a head coach in Canadian major junior hockey. “It’s hard to believe we are in the middle of our eighth season . It’s the old adage, ‘Time flies when you are having fun.’ “Jim Hulton has become a fixture of major junior hockey not just on P.E.I., but across the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League,” said Craig Foster, Islanders president of operations, in a media release. “His coaching career has taken him across the hockey world; we’re extremely grateful that his longest tenure has been here in Charlottetown.”– Quebec Major Junior Hockey League coach of the year.– QMJHL general manager of the year.
“You knew them when they were 17 and now, they are in their late 30s, early 40s, and they have a family and are good, productive members of society,” said Hulton. “That is why you are in it.
