Forward and team captain Keiran Gallant of Covehead is in his fourth and final season of eligibility with the Charlottetown Islanders. Not bad for a player drafted in the 13th round, 226th overall, in 2018 out of Stanstead College in Quebec.

Gallant, who called it an honour to serve as team captain this year, played his 208th game – regular season and playoffs – as a Charlottetown Islander in Game 1 of a playoff series versus the Quebec Remparts on March 31.

“I’ve said it over the years, I think every kid dreams about it the moment they step on the ice with skates,” said Gallant. “I’m very fortunate to have been able to do it, and I wouldn’t want to change it for the world. It’s been awesome.” Gallant said he is much more confident as a veteran now than when he came into the league as a young player.
